Certification Preparation

Led by qualified and certified HR instructors, our intensive SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP training course, combined with the SHRM Learning System (included for post-class reinforcement), presents a comprehensive and detailed review of the current SHRM body of Competency & Knowledge (SHRM BoCK). 

By attending, you and your team will be able to identify areas of strength and build on them. 

You will also see where you need further concentrated study so you are fully prepared to take either exam.

Professional Development Credits (PDCs)

As a SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), you already know the importance of understanding current HR issues and extending your knowledge to continue improving in your field.

The Society for Human Resource Management recognizes this, as well. Re-certifying your SHRM credential requires that you earn 60 professional development credits every three years or retake the exam. With the New Horizons Center for Leadership and Development, earning PDCs is simpler than ever! QUALIFYING CREDIT-EARNING ACTIVITIES

Re-certification is required every three years. Professionals need to earn 60 professional development credits (PDCs) in order to recertify.  SHRM has addressed the needs of HR professionals by creating three avenues by which SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP credential-holders can earn re-certification credits:

ORGANIZATION

20 PDC maximum
per recertification period

Supervisor-endorsed work projects that meet or support organizational goals and demonstrate or advance capabilities in one or more HR Competencies.

To be awarded credit, upload documentation to your certification portal providing a defined project objective, a description of the project and your level of involvement, and how the project related to all applicable HR competencies. PDCs are calculated based on time spent working on a project.

  • 50+ hours spent and a minimum of 3+ months = 10 PDCs 
  • 100+ hours spent and a minimum of 6+ months = 20 PDCs
